The Leslie Mannix Fund
After a strong battle against pancreatic cancer, on January 11th, 2023, Leslie Mannix passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Her legacy will live on through her daughters, her dear friends and family, and her spectacular design work that touched so many. Leslie had a way of bringing people together and making everyone laugh. Once asked " what do you think is the best thing about you?" Leslie confidently answered " it is the people that I attract in my life". Despite her illness Leslie spent the last year continuing to try new things, make everlasting memories and have fun with her loved ones. The time many of us spent with Leslie we will not only cherish forever, but it has also shaped us into who we are today. The Leslie Mannix Fund was founded by her two daughters, Payton and Lauren, to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Canada in her honor. In majority of pancreatic cancer cases the cancer is not found until it is too late. When Leslie was diagnosed she was given only 6-8 months to live. This serves as a reminder to cherish every moment because time has no garuntee. Our hopes of starting this foundation is to raise awarness and resources to help advance the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer to give people more time with their loved ones and work towards a higher survival rate. Every donation is greatly appreciated and helps us get one step closer to protecting the lives of everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.
