Raising Funds for Pancreatic Cancer and Showing our Love for Warren Wolfenden
Nine months following his diagnosis, Warren lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on October 3rd, 2023. My father was 75 when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, the same age his mother was when she received and died from the same diagnosis. Though he fought hard and had many doctors in Canada and the US consult on his case, pancreatic cancer is a deathly illness, and Warren fell into the 90% of people who die within the year of their diagnosis.
In May 2024 I will be participating in ‘7 Days’ and ride 100 miles by bike in a day. I am seeking to raise $100 per mile, totalling $10,000. In the days before his death, my father told me he was proud I was able to raise $3,400 in 2023 for Pancreatic Cancer, and he knew I would work hard to raise more funds for 2024. Your support of 7 Days will help fund next-generation research, awareness efforts, and patient support services so that together we can reach our ultimate goal: to raise the rate of pancreatic cancer survival.
Any contribution to this fund is appreciated. My father meant a great deal to many of us, and I hope to honour him with my ride and our contribution to Pancreatic Cancer Canada.
