Thank you for helping me raise awareness & research dollars for Pancreatic Cancer!
2021 HERE. WE. RIDE.
Friends & family,
Thank you once again for your support, encouragement & love for my September 2020 ride for Pancreatic Cancer Canada with 7 days in May.
My dear mom was diagnosed in July of 2018. Unfortunately, she recently passed away in April 2021. She battled a challenging fight courageously and left us peacefully with grace and surrounded by love. 'You will always be my superhero and now, my forever angel, mom. I'll love you always'.
Prior to mom's passing, I let her know I would dedicate my life to continuing to raise awareness & funds for cancer research, more specifically pancreatic cancer. She loved this organization and was so grateful to everyone who supported the cause in any way they could. Thank you to those who donated to PCC directly & to 7 Days In May to honour her memory.
Pancreatic Cancer remains the deadliest of the major cancers, with a first-year survival rate of only 25%, and a 5-year survival rate of only 7%. The good news is that the survival rate has increased in recent years and with the focus of the Pancreatic Cancer Canada Foundation, we are optimistic that the survival rate will continue to increase!
As we did in 2020, 7 Days In May will direct 100% of our funds raised to the PancOne initiative that is being run by Pancreatic Cancer Canada. All proceeds will be directed towards clinical trials and other direct studies, focused on early detection and a cure as well as providing support and education for those impacted by the disease.
Together, and to date, you have helped raise over 1 million $$ for 7 Days In May - 100% of funds going DIRECTLY to pancreatic cancer research! THANK YOU!
Our goal in 2021 is to raise more than $250,000. All administrative fees and overhead costs are managed by our sponsors and our riders. Every dollar you donate will go DIRECTLY to research. This is a founding principal of 7 Days and we will continue that objective for the foreseeable future.
In our lifetime, we will be able to #EndPanCan with your continued help.
This year, due to covid restrictions, we are riding virtually. I have been putting in the KMs on my spin bike as well as on individual outdoor rides. I can't wait to ride with this incredible group of amazing human beings in 2022.
As an added bonus this year,
Sloan, 8 and Xavier, 5 1/2 also wanted to make a difference! I'm so happy and proud to say - they just completed their first annual "Jr." 7 Days in May, riding their bikes for 7 consecutive days, a total of 50 kms! Please feel free to donate to them as well, any amount will go a long way!
They thank you for your support & love. We all do.
Ride on. Stay safe. Stay healthy and (hopefully) see you & hug you soon!
