Welcome to Jack McKittrick's Fundraising Page
I ride for Ron.
Ron White passed away at the age of 53 with Pancreatic Cancer leaving behind his wife and 2 children.
Ron was one of my oldest friends - we met in church choir at the age of 8. Neither of us were very good singers but we formed a bond that lasted until cancer took it away. High school and college together, weddings and children. We played sports together, argued over baseball (Ron was a Yankee's fan) and partied together.
Shortly after our 50th birthday we planned a get together in Calgary with 2 other lifelong friends and had a great time. Not realizing that he would be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer within 16 months and passed away within 2 years. For a guy who could often be cantankerous, his grace as the cancer destroyed him was inspiring.
I'm not a medical doctor, nor a research scientist so there's not much I can do to fight this disease. But I can cycle and I can raise money. So I ride for Ron.
Riding 160 km for 7 days straight is hard - fighting cancer is unimaginable. 7 years ago I would have said I can't do that. Watching Ron fight cancer has changed my perspective.
Please pledge some money to help fight this disease and to help the future Ron's. I need your support and so does Pancreatic Cancer.
I ride for Ron.
