Martin Macdonald - 7 Days in May 2018
I am once again participating in 7 Days In May, a cycling event and fundraiser founded in 2012 to increase awareness about pancreatic cancer and to raise funds to help find a cure for this deadly affliction.
I will be joining a group of dedicated cyclists who make the annual 7 day, 1,100km trek around Lake Ontario to raise vital funds and awareness for pancreas cancer.
Pancreas Cancer remains the deadliest of the major cancers, with a first year survival rate of only 25%, and a 5 year survival rate of only 7%. The good news is that the survival rate has actually increased in recent years and with the focus of the Pancreatic Cancer Canada, we are optimistic that the survival rate will continue to increase.
The 2018 goal is to raise more than $120,000 and as in past years, 100% of funds raised will go directly to clinical trials research being undertaken by the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, based at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. All administrative fees and overheads are managed by sponsors and riders. Every dollar you donate goes directly to research.
Please pledge me and help me reach my fundraising goal! Every pledge takes us one step further in the fight for life.
Ride with us for one day, two days, or the whole seven from May 26th to June 1st 2018. Together we can #EndPanCan!
