Gavin's Ride To Cure Pancreatic Cancer!
OK, you've arrived at the right place to support my ride to combat Pancreatic Cancer. So, stay and pay. It's time to witness my pain and part with your cash!
Having lost my dad to this dreadful disease, I'm prepared to work my butt off (literally) to see that others don't experience the same. Pancreatic Cancer isn't the most common cancer, though it still ranks surprisingly high. The worst aspect is it 'doesn't take prisoners'! It is relentless, consequently it accounts for more deaths than most other cancers for both men and women.
This is due, in no small part, to the fact that Pancreatic Cancer just hasn't received the attention, and thus the funding, that other more populist (albeit worthy) causes receive. Perhaps it's because the disease is so scary that people look elsewhere? It really is time to change that.
So, from 26th May to 2nd June 2018 I'll be riding with a dedicated group (approx. 30) of wonderful people to circumnavigate Lake Ontario to raise awareness and funds. The ride is in its seventh year and has raised $350,000 so far. The ride is no picnic, the route is a grueling 1,100 kms through Ontario and New York State.
BTW donations are tax-deductible in Canada and in the US also where we partner with the Lustgarten Foundation.
Please help me get my sorry (and no doubt very sore) arse the distance. Believe me, you won't want to be my scrotum come the end of this one!
