Support the fight to end pancreatic cancer
A Fundraiser In Honour of Dr. Hugh Tildesley
This coming year, thousands of Canadians will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and told there is little hope for survival. This golf tournament will support Pancreatic Cancer Canada in their fight to SAVE LIVES by raising awareness and much-needed funding to foster research that focuses on new and better ways to diagnose and treat pancreatic cancer and improve the outcomes for those battling this disease.
Dr. Hugh Tildesley was the consummate clinician, an expert in clinical care and research regarding diabetes. He had a busy practice and built a vigorous research enterprise tightly linked with his practice.
Hugh was also a passionate golfer in general, but especially in his commitment and passion for Point Grey Golf and Country Club in Vancouver. He served a term as President and remained very active on improving board governance. But he is best remembered as the raconteur “Commish” with his wit, $5 “Hugh bill” golf bets, and “today’s trivia question is…”
Finally, he was a devoted and loving family man to his lovely wife Deborah and 3 children Donovan, Hamish and Catherine. Hugh wanted to improve care, teaching and research regarding pancreatic cancer and we hope this tournament will inspire friends and colleagues to consider this donation opportunity.
